Celebrate Arbor Day - Plant a Tree

The Brodhead Forestry Department will again celebrate Arbor Day by planting bare root trees on city terraces. This will take place sometime during the last week of April. We will deliver, plant, stake and mulch around the tree. All you have to do is pay for the tree, water and care for it. Please click here to see A Proclamation Labor Day. This will be updated in April of 2015.

Why do we celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees? Trees lower cooling costs by providing shade, help with storm water control, clean the air, provide habitat for wild life and increase the value of property. But most of all they add beauty to our community.  The City of Brodhead is very proud to be celebrating our 2nd year as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.

For 2015 we have a selection of eight trees ranging in adult height from 15’ to 45’. We will approve your choice based on the utilities and growing space. Click here to view choices (PDF).

We have added some new choices for 2015. If you are interested in a tree for 2015, please let us know as soon as possible.

If you would like to put a request in for a tree, or have questions, please call the Public Works Department at 897-4384.

We have a very limited number of trees, so this is a first come, first serve bases. Get your order in now.
